How we make money
RooferScore earns money from roofers who pay for labelled spots. We do not take payment to change a score, an order or a review. This page lists every paid spot.
The paid spots
| Spot | Where it appears | Label you see |
|---|---|---|
| Suburb partner | Above the ranked list on one suburb page | "Featured partner (paid)" |
| Verified profile | On one business's listing page | "Verified profile (paid)" |
| Data partner | On a cost guide, beside the price figures | "Data partner (paid)" |
| Expert answer | Beside an answer on a guide, at most 3 per page | "Expert answer (paid)" |
| City sponsor | Banner on a city page | "City sponsor (paid)" |
An unrented spot says so and is never filled with a made-up business or review.
What payment never does
- It never changes a score. The score uses only the public inputs on How we score.
- It never changes the order of the ranked list. Paid spots sit outside the list, including the copy of the list we publish for search engines.
- It never edits a rating or review. Those are Google's.
- It never changes a cost figure. A data partner's prices count once, and a partner supplies at most a fifth of the prices behind any figure.
- "Verified" on a paid profile means we have seen the documents shown. It is not a quality rating.
How paid links work
Every link from a paid spot to a roofer's website is marked as paid in the page code (rel="sponsored"), so search engines can tell it apart. Partner cards use a tracked phone number, labelled as one.
When we cancel a spot
We remove a paid spot if the licence lapses, the Google rating falls below 4.0, a data partner stops supplying written quotes, or the roofer asks. Terms are month to month with 30 days' notice and no exit fee.
Australian Consumer Law
We label paid placements so you are not misled about why a business appears where it does. If a label is unclear, tell us.
Who is in the ranked list
Nobody pays to be in it. We list every roofer near a suburb that has five or more Google reviews.
